Since the 1980s, neoliberalism with the help of the media has built a global Potemkin village, where we are taken for walks whenever we have doubts. So far, it has worked perfectly, and the happiness provided by finance and (false) competition seemed to be more or less established, and those who challenged it were considered, at best, to be in bad faith, at worst, as supporting terrorism.

Now nature, which knows nothing in politics, cares little for newspeak and economic-political nuances.

But then, the covid-19, who decidedly does not respect anything, came to us, after having visited the totalitarian Iranian theocracy.

THE REVOLT OF THE CENTER.

The insurgent and revolutionary wave of Yellow Vests in France has been extensively observed, analyzed and commented on in the media and on websites. They have been described as either populist, fascist, racist, anarchist, violent, stupid, and so on, or as ignorant activists, true revolutionary socialists, the people on the move, and so on. It seems to me, however, that if we allow ourselves a small historical comparison with the most similar events, that is to say the uprisings of 1788 and 1789, there is another reading than that of the official media, Macronists, Lepenists and Melanchonists. Indeed, this revolt does not appear as extremist, but as a reformist - it wants a better sharing of wealth, a better democracy, a better social welfare, etc. This strongly resembles the first phase of the French Revolution, from 1789 to 1792, when it was a question of transforming the absolute monarchy into a constitutional one. It was the Girondins, not an insignificant party, who represented this trend, popular until the unveiling of the king's treason and the Terror. What the Yellow Vests demand is above all a REFORM of institutions, this time to their advantage, and no longer to that of the ruling classes. To equate them with dangerous extremists is to make exactly the same mistake that Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette made during the beginning of the Revolution: Instead of acceding to the demands and accepting, as the English and Dutch monarchs before them, a new way of ruling, they pushed the Assembly into foolish actions (The war against Austria, etc.), thus allowing the accession to power of Robespierre. What the Yellow Vests want is not a Soviet republic or an ultra-liberal regime but, on the contrary, a republic of the center. They are, however, ready to go on until they to get what they want, and if the Fifth Republic does not reform itself (which seems very unlikely), then we can fear a growing violence. Et justifiée.seb doubinskyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00095914978037591953noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3714415819919121522.post-5015856934383649892018-06-15T11:32:00.001-07:002018-06-15T11:34:27.723-07:00THE EUROPEAN UNION PROJECT OR THE QUIRKS OF SELF-COLONIALISM

<span style="background: rgb(255 , 255 , 255); color: #212121; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 14pt; letter-spacing: 0pt;">The rise of so-called "populist" movements in the European Union elicits many comments and analyzes. There are, however, a few missing elements that I think are essential to better understand what is happening now. The first thing to analyze, it seems to me, is the functioning of the European political superstructure in its <span style="background: rgb(255 , 255 , 255); color: #212121; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 14pt; letter-spacing: 0pt;">perspective of a<span style="background: rgb(255 , 255 , 255); color: #212121; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 14pt; letter-spacing: 0pt;"> "power". Indeed, we are in the presence of a super-state, the European Commission, doubled by a gigantic parliament, but with fuzzy powers, because <span style="background: rgb(255 , 255 , 255); color: #212121; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 14pt; letter-spacing: 0pt;">with a contradictory identity: in the one hand, it has only a very limited <span style="background: rgb(255 , 255 , 255); color: #212121; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 14pt; letter-spacing: 0pt;">power <span style="background: rgb(255 , 255 , 255); color: #212121; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 14pt; letter-spacing: 0pt;">which it tries to exaggerate while at the same time whole-heartedly accepting to represent <span style="background: rgb(255 , 255 , 255); color: #212121; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 14pt; letter-spacing: 0pt;">a travesty of democracy, where the "representativity "<span style="background: rgb(255 , 255 , 255); color: #212121; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 14pt; letter-spacing: 0pt;"> <span style="background: rgb(255 , 255 , 255); color: #212121; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 14pt; letter-spacing: 0pt;">is so delegated that it does not represent much more than the absurdity of the system itself. <span style="background: rgb(255 , 255 , 255); color: #212121; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 14pt; letter-spacing: 0pt;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 14.0000pt;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 14.0000pt;">

It is the supreme “I feel for you” con. Indignation is a permanent state for me, it did not start at Aleppo, Srebrenica or elsewhere. I am, like you, like most, completely powerless. But not guilty. I am not the one who should wring my hands, sign useless petitions, self-flagellate myself. The next time you go vote, think about Aleppo and those you’re about to elect. Think of Spain in 36, about Sarajevo, about the Kurds who fight in the front line to protect you and are massacred by Erdogan. Think about it and tell me where the real responsibility lies.seb doubinskyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00095914978037591953noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3714415819919121522.post-9719270016337351212016-12-15T02:19:00.001-08:002016-12-15T02:22:27.504-08:00MON SENTIMENT SUR ALEP, ETC.

If the "freedom" of the markets is a positive things, the "Freedom" of the citizens is suspicious, and has to be constantly monitored and even temporarily (?) restricted. Products may move freely across borders, but not all citizens. What's more, the privileges of the super wealthy become the symbols of the first notion, while social racism and xenophobia are systematically attached to the second. Freedom has thus become (like democracy) a concept that can be read two different ways (at least) at the same time: one positive and official, one negative and threatening. We are moving more and more towards a Chinese model, as it is today, with a free for all (and corrupt) economy supported by a single Party relying on its propaganda tools. The dream of the crazy US Republicans today or of the Bruxelles ultra-liberal eggheads is indeed of a single-coloured society, with limited individual rights, in the name of a supreme good, the "Market", to which all must be sacrificed. A Chinese dream indeed - very far away from poor Adam Smith's ideals.

One of the strengths of Nazism has always been to use the language to corrupt Thought, and part of Europe is in the process of applying with great success lessons from Dr. Goebbels. Today, Scandinavia, France, Hungary and elsewhere, political parties and even governments, as in Hungary and Denmark, use coded expressions such as "anti-Islam" or "Islamskritik" in Danish, to hide their true nature,

which is outright racist. But when this is pointed out to them, they deny it and blame Muslim “culture" - as in the latest example, the assaults against women in Köln and elsewhere. But we must not delude ourselves about the meaning of "culture" in the right-wing thought: culture is an atavism that is made up of hereditary traits formerly associated with a race, and today a religion. This is the "moral" basis of the extreme-right today: on the one hand, the good, white Christians, although Jews are considered OK too, for strategical reasons; and on the other hand, colored barbarians that cannot adapt to "Western civilization" because of atavistic traits. In Denmark, where I live, this distinction is found everywhere, both in the current government, partly in its opposition (the Social Democrats) and in almost all the Media. If we add a strong nationalist sentiment traditionally maintained by both the right and the left (once for different reasons, but joining in an appalling way today), we find ourselves with a speech in which we divide the world into two: on one side, the "Ubermensch" civilized and de facto moral; and on the other the "Untermensch" barbaric and de facto immoral. This distinction is not only the prerogative of Denmark and, what is more worrying, it is not seen for what it is: a Nazi concept. The democratic Europe in which we believed before before the back-stabbings of Maastricht and Lisbon, day after day loses its soul and honor, corroded from within by a violent cancer we continue to call a “cold "... It is time to open our eyes and oppose a total resistance, that can begin simply by calling things by their real name ... No, it isn’t a new form of Fascism that threatens Europe; It is, purely and simply, a neo-Nazism.

AND UTOPIAI often hear the criticism about my political beliefs, that "Anarchism is a utopia." OK. I can accept that a classless society, based on all its different cultures and identities, (temporarily) represented by elected representatives for a limited time and subject to the approval of their voters can make one smile, particularly in view of the New Ultra-Liberal Imperialist Order to which we are subjected these days. I would just argue that anarchism does not seem more utopian to me than a world living in peace thanks to non-regulated markets, than a harmonious society where the rich get richer and the poor are happy to get poorer, and where a handful of privileged politicians, bankers and businessmen decide of the fate of entire countries, which were ruined by them ... As far as utopias are concerned, I'm sorry to say, but I much prefer mine.seb doubinskyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00095914978037591953noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3714415819919121522.post-62694166836120408402015-06-30T10:54:00.000-07:002015-06-30T11:03:41.204-07:00L'ANARCHISME COMME UTOPIEJ'entends souvent la critique, quant à mes convictions politiques, que "L'anarchisme est une utopie."
